Kreinik Braid #16

The perfect metallic thread for needlepoint. Kreinik Metallic Braids will not unravel and are strong, soft and lustrous. Braids are round in shape to offer textured dimensional effects.

Soft and easy to use
Use for Cross Stitch (10 – 11 ct)
Use for Needlepoint (14-18ct)
10 meter (11 yard) spools
Machine-washable
Made in the U.S.A.

Kreinik Braids are used alone, rather than combined with another thread type in the needle.  Both regular and Corded braids (C) are available. The difference between Braids and Corded Braids is that Braids are made from a flat fiber which produces a flat sheen while the Corded Braids are made from a round fiber which produces a nubby textured sheen.

Recreate the color and texture of nature and life, such as glistening snow, luminescent butterflies, glowing moons and stars, polished black leather shoes, shimmering fish or sea life, and more.

Kreinik Braids are hand or machine washable and dry cleanable. Cool water is recommended. Do not use bleach. Tumble dry low if needed. Do not iron directly on the thread; use a cloth, and do not use steam.

Both sides of the spool open; look for the side where the thread end is located. Insert your thumbnail under the cap, and rotate the spool while gently lifting the cap to release the thread (the cap should not pop off). Snap the lid shut to secure the unused portion.

Use short lengths of thread – about 45cm (18 inches) or less – to avoid wear on the thread while stitching. Using short lengths will maintain the quality of the thread and reduce tangling.

Use a needle large enough to sufficiently ‘open’ a hole in the fabric and allow the thread to go through easily. Let your needle hang frequently and allow the thread to untwist.

Stitch using the ‘stab’ method to avoid tangling, working your stitches in two movements: up vertically then down vertically through the fabric.
