Baby in a Basket

8.3"  x  10.0"   on 16/32 count fabric

A simply lovely tribute to a new little one. Baby in a Basket is best done on a Linen or evenweave fabric because the baby’s skin is stitched “over-one” – tiny stitches 1/4 the size of a typical stitch. This makes it look smooth and fine.

Description

Baby in a Basket from Told in a Garden.

Lots of lace and flowers surround the child. Little birds weave ribbons around the edges. The face is done in tinier stitches over one fabric thread on linen.

Designed by Marilyn Leavitt-Imblum, © 1995.

The model is stitched on 32ct Raw / Natural Belfast.
