Spring Stitches

3.3"  x  3.3"   on 20 count fabric

Slowly but surely, the snow melts away and Spring bursts forth. With buds and bugs, snow and mud, and the first robin sighting, Spring is the season of hope. From Jeannette Douglas’ Seasonal Stitches series.

Description

Spring Stitches from the Seasonal Stitches Series. Remnants of snow give way into the early greens and golden browns of the spring. Each square of this shadow-box style sampler is full of spring promise – from budding trees to the first flying insects. An umbrella charm makes the perfect whimsical accent.

The sampler contains 13 boxes, done in a palette of solid and variegated silk. Many “specialty” stitches are used – there are diagrams and written instructions for all of them, making this design approachable – if you have patience (and Google), your initial skill level with specialty stitches will not be important.
